The Computational Mechanics Lab (LabMecC) operates in the field of the Computational Mechanics of Materials and Structures. LabMecC activities are devoted to the development of mathematical and numerical models for the stress analysis of structures and the analysis of materials behavior, to their verification and validation on the basis of experimental evidences, and to their application to real life engineering problems.

 

 

The LabMecC exploits state of the art competences for the formulation of models and numerical methods aimed at the solution of complex problems in all fields of structural and materials engineering, with the goal to contribute to the transfer of research results from academia to industry. To this purpose, the LabMecC promotes continuing education initiatives for the training of experts in the field of computational mechanics.

 

The LabMecC makes use of computing facilities available at consociated computing centers, such as Cineca, in addition to in-house computing resources such as workstation clusters for parallel computing.
